David B. Falk, Law ’75

David B. Falk, Law ’75, the illustrious–some might say legendary–sports agent representing players of the National Basketball Association (NBA), received the Stockton Guard Alumni Award at the 2015 Alumni Reunion Dinner. The award honors an alumnus or an alumna who graduated 40 years ago or more and who has led an extraordinary career, showing dedication and commitment to the betterment of the Law School.

Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Roger Fairfax introduced Falk, emphasizing his excellent negotiation skills–which led to transformative deals such as Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan branding campaign with Nike that redefined sports marketing possibilities. Falk began his career with ProServ, then later founded Falk Associates Management Enterprises, known as FAME, representing many major players.

Wishing to encourage and enhance excellence and opportunity at GW Law, Falk and his wife Rhonda, a graduate of the GWU Columbian College, believe it is important to give back and are proud to be able to make a significant gift to the Making History Campaign. Falk chose to give a life insurance policy because he has found that to be a cost-effective way to make a planned gift. The gift will fund the Falk Academy of Management and Entrepreneurship–the Law School’s own FAME–which will be housed at GW Law’s Center for Law, Economics and Finance (C-LEAF), where future business-oriented Law School students will be able to follow David’s example–preparing for extraordinary and transformative careers.
